During my lunch break, I popped into Dot's Cupcakes in Pasadena, a cute little shop, perhaps a more recent entry into the crazed LA cupcake market. Of course, as a Sprinkles fan, I was instantly comparing everything I saw there to what I know and love at Sprinkles. The store itself was so small inside that there wasn't much room for anything, and so the overall effect was that it seemed cluttered. As for the cupcakes themselves, nothing to write home about. I had a vanilla-chocolate, and the cake was pretty bland. Also, they had Sprinkles knock-off sugar decorations atop the frosting. These, incidentally, actually tasted better than the mod dots that adorn their competitor's cakes, but did not the whole cupcake salvage.
